1970s Otagiri & Takahashi Japanese Pottery Vases

I love these little mid century Japanese vases! Especially beautiful are the earth tone styles and colors so popular in 1960s-70s decor. They look great displayed together on a tray or windowsill.

Otagiri was the trademark for OMC or Otagiri Mercantile Company and imported hand crafted and hand painted ceramics made in Japan for distribution to high-end department stores and gift shops mainly in San Francisco. The company was in business for some 40 years with the OMC gold foil label and trademark first being used in 1961. Many well known artists designed products for Otagiri which was sold to Enesco in 1994.

I haven't researched Takahashi quite as much, doesn't seem to be as much info about them. They were or possibly still are, an import company in San Francisco.
