This vintage book, "The American Red Cross Canoeing" has a 1956 Copyright and Published by Doubleday & Company, Inc. I think the cover design and colors are so nice on these old Red Cross books! There are black and white photos and illustrations showing canoeing history, paddling techniques and water safety. The book measures 5 1/2" x 9 1/8" x about 3/4" thick. It is in good condition, with some wear and tear on the spine and cover. There are 2 local newspaper articles from the Nantahala Outdoor Center near Bryson City, NC and an inscription on the title page. This is a great vintage book with a nice mid century design!
