This is a beautiful little book, "The Pocket Book Of Verse" edited and introduction by M. E. Speare. It's a Collector's Edition, volume 29 by Pocket Books, Inc., New York. It has a copyright date of 1940. The little book measures 4 1/2" x 6 5/8", is in great condition just a bit of wear at the corners and edges. The cover is black or very dark blue cloth with gilt lettering and beige, blue and brown paper. It holds the work of writers such as Keats, Byron, Shakespeare, Chaucer, Shelley, Poe, Browning, etc. The book has an inscription on the front inside cover in very tiny print which reads: To Beverly Coleman Jones / from Iona and Hollister Jones / Jan. 4, 1952. There is also a tiny card inside which reads: Happy Birthday to dear Beverly / Love Dad and Mother. A really lovely and decorative little book!
