This is a great vintage French Mail bag. It measures 24" wide x 36" long and is made from heavy natural color hemp. The bag is stenciled on both sides with: POSTES / FRANCE / a bird symbol / POSTES / FRANCE / 5. One side is quite faded and hard to read and there are some wear stains and several great repairs. The bag has a metal ring at one side for hanging and the opening has a rolled, reinforced top. It holds a 24" square square pillow form perfectly for an instant floor pillow! A nice big vintage hemp postal bag!
