This is a beautiful Rosenthal mid century ice bucket in the white Suomi pattern designed in 1976 by Timo Sarpaneva from Finland and made in Germany. Unfortunately this one has lost its lid, but is still a lovely piece, in great condition, no cracks or chips! It measures 6 1/2" between the handle ends, stands 5 1/2" high and about 8 1/4" to the top of the handle. The base has the Rosenthal mark used between 1961 and 1999 which reads: Rosenthal / studio-linie / GERMANY 1. This piece also has the designer's signature, Rosenthal and studio-linie marked in white near the top at one side near the handle. It usually is called an ice bucket, but sometimes a covered veg dish. I think it'd be a beautiful plant holder! It is classic mid century style with its clean lines and silver metal swing handle!
