This is a pretty wooden lacquer ware box with shell inlay cranes. The box measures 7 3/4" x 4" x 2" high. The lid top with the inlay is in great condition, the inside rim of the box has a few chips, probably from careless placement of the lid and the lid edge has a crack at one end. There is also wear to the lacquer on the bottom and at one corner of the box. Please view the detail photos to see the damage. The inside of the lid has a painted mark in gold which reads: VIET-NAM / ARTS CRAFTS. A very pretty little box with intricate detailed inlay! I love this charming old lacquer ware box, the cranes stand out so nice in bright light!
