This is a great antique Duchess brand wooden embroidery hoop. The hoop is oval and nice sized, measuring 12 1/2" long x 6 1/4" wide x 1/2". The mark has DUCHESS-OVAL with PAT'D below. The hoop is in great condition except for the wool felt padding inside that has moth damage. The inner hoop has been wrapped with fabric sewn in place which could be easily removed if you like. I love the look of the old hoops when they've been wrapped to hold the fabric tight. This hoop was made by Gibbs Manufacturing Company of Canton, OH.
