This is a very pretty antique black transfer ware Carr China Co. small oval bowl. It was distributed by the Cullens Co. of Knoxville, TN and I believe it is from the early 1900s. The pattern name is Maythorne and it seems the black color in that pattern is somewhat rare. The little bowl measures 5 1/8" x 3 5/8" x 1 1/4" high. The back marks read: CARR CHINA CO. / CULLENS / KNOXVILLE, TENN. It is in great condition, no cracks or chips, just a little staining on the inside.
