This is a sweet little English antique ironstone butter pat, all white with an elegant raised scroll pattern around the edge. The maker's marks on the bottom read: JOHN MADDOCK & SONS / ENGLAND / ROYAL VITREOUS. There are no cracks or chips, just some stain that could be bleached out. It measures 2 7/8" in diameter.
