This is a really nice antique pottery canning jar by Peoria Pottery, Peoria, IL. The jar measures 4 1/4" at the shoulder x 3 5/8" at the top x 6 3/4" tall. It does have a chip at the top, see the photos. The jar is glazed dark brown and has 2 holes near the top for the wire lock that held the lid in place. PEORIA POTTERY is stamped in the base.
